Seven Month Old Babies

This week's ParentingWeekly tip:

♥ To help develop your baby's coordination, show him how to tap two saucepan lids together. Then let your baby give it a try and watch his excitement when he can make a loud noise.

I tried doing this a few weeks ago, and he could not really connect the wooden spoon and pot well, so he may not have been ready for it yet. I am going to try it again! Tomorrow we have our next pediatrician appointment, so we'll see how well little man is growing too. He is definately at least twenty pounds (I weigh myself without him and then holding him, and it is a 20 pound difference), and at his six month visit was 27 inches- 90th percentile, so I'm guessing he is still around the 90th according to what we are to expect for babies now:

♥ At seven months old, babies usually range from 25 inches long and 14.25 pounds (10th percentile) to 28 inches long and 19.5 pounds (90th percentile). By playing with your baby, you're helping him develop some of the social skills that he will need when he begins to interact with other children. The more you play with him, the faster he will learn to recognize when someone is interested in playing with him and understand how to evaluate non-verbal communication. You're also teaching your baby the value of sharing a game or toy with another person.

I take tips from a book called Baby Smarts as well, and read that animal noises are very entertaining to babies now also, so I've been trying this. He loves funny noises, all kinds :)
