I had the opportunity to review a Le Creuset cast iron grill pan, which is offered for a discounted price (like most of their products) on Cookware.com. I've always wanted to try a product of Le Creuset, because cast iron cookware has multiple benefits, such as even heating and cooking, lasting for generations (a good cast iron cooking set is an heirloom in many families, and it gets better with use and age), and cast iron even imparts iron to the food cooking inside it. I was hesitant to try it because it's heavier than regular cookware, but I always felt having just a few pieces of good iron cookware, as opposed to a whole set, would give me the best of both worlds.


If treated right and seasoned correctly, iron cookware will last your lifetime and create more flavorful foods- in general, a piece like the one pictured above will be a real asset in your kitchen. The center grills help to drain fat away from the food, while creating those fabulous grill marks on meats and veggies, and you can easily pour any fat out the sides, where a little spout is located on each side. The colors are beautiful too (I love red, but it also comes in orange, cobalt blue, and more).
