My husband was a volunteer firefighter, so he got a real kick out of the Firehouse Building Set in which you can make a firehouse building front, complete with elevating garage door. There is also a mini K'Nex fire hydrant (sort of looks like a fire hydrant) and a firetruck exit warning street sign, for realistic play. A Fire Truck building set is sold separately to complete the set, so your little ones can pop on a Sesame Street character to go racing to the fire. The Firehouse Building Set is part of the Neighborhood Collection, and a good starting piece to build an entire town play set for kids.

I love that the pieces are big enough for wee ones. My son is only one, so too young to play with these pieces yet, but we let him play with them alongside his older cousin while we supervised, and were impressed to see him try to imitate his cousin and put the pieces together (though in no specific order, lol). The pieces were big enough that I didn't worry about him swallowing anything (though they are not recommended for children under two). This entire set includes all the parts shown below:
