Boar's Head For My Hero & Perdue's Online Recipe Benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation

My husband loves sandwiches for lunch. He doesn't get long breaks at work, and heroes are easy to eat while leaving nothing behind to clean up or bring back home. He either picks up a sandwich from a local deli or I make him a sandwich to bring to work with him, and he always orders his favorite- Boar's Head Honey-Roasted Ham and Swiss Cheese.
We recently had the opportunity to try out different varieties of our favorite brand, so of course we accepted it. This last week for lunch, my husband ordered sandwiches with Boar's Head Oven Gold Turkey, and, despite being a huge fan of ham, he said he enjoyed the change and wants me to buy different flavors once in a while in the future. He was nice enough to take a picture of his lunch one day (features Boar's Head Oven Gold Turkey and Swiss Cheese, and lots of toppings, on a hero):

I myself tried out the Boar's Head Sweet Slice Ham for my morning breakfast (pictured below) that I love to enjoy with American cheese and a little mayo on a breakfast muffin. It's actually been a long time since I've been able to have cold cuts (since I was pregnant and nursing) but now that I can enjoy deli sandwiches again, I found I really like it:

I was a little nervous at first (sweet ham?) but figured you never know, and why not stretch my comfort zone and try something new, and it's surprisingly good. We still absolutely love Boar's Head Honey-Roasted Ham, but are glad we tried some new flavors to change it up. I plan to try the turkey flavors this weekend also, something totally different.

  1. When I lived in Florida, Publix had Boars Head. It's my husbands favorite deli meat. He hates we can't get it here where we live. The taste was truly amazing.

  3. I love Boar's Head brand--it is always my first choice when I go to the deli--if a store doesn't carry it, I am always disappointed.

  4. Nichol, there is seriously someplace that doesn't offer it? In NYC, they charge another dollar or two for Boar's Head, which we always pay. The "other stuff" feels like a generic version :)

  5. Sweet ham? Ok, I'll give it a shot.
