Vote To Help a School Win $100,000 From Bing!

I come from a family of teachers. My sister-in-law is a teacher, and I often hear about the wonderful things she does to help her class, at her own expense. As a teacher, she doesn't make a lot of money, but she loves her students and often spends her own money to buy art supplies or books for her students. This is something that many teachers across America do on a regular basis, because schools tend to be under-funded and many worthwhile programs are cut, renovations are not done, and students suffer the consequences.

Bing is sponsoring an "Our School Needs" contest, and 15 schools have been selected for a chance to win $100,000 as well as other prizes! From now until November 7th you can vote for the school you would like to win. Bing is awarding a quarter-million dollars in prize money divided among four schools in need, and your vote can make all the difference. The entry with the most votes wins $100k, and 3 others will each win $50k. Bing is giving away up to $900,000 to schools in need through DonorsChoose.org, a non-profit website where public school teachers can post classroom projects that need funding. Be one of the first 30,000 to vote for your favorite finalists each day and you will also receive a $3 donation code to redeem for the classroom project of your choice.

When I viewed the list, and was shocked to see our local school on it (I won't tell you which, because you should vote for the school you think deserves it most), but obviously I was thrilled to see that our school has a chance. I viewed some of the videos, and they are really great. Most of the schools are looking to expand their arts, music, or drama program, which are worthy goals and will not only encourage and motivate many children, but also give them a way to develop their talents, socialize, and basically walk a straight line (these children are in school, learning). One school wants to improve their lighting system so that their utility costs over time are lowered. These children are all so adorable, and the videos are just a few minutes each.

Please vote! Visit www.bing.com/ourschoolneeds to view the schools that are finalists and pick your choice. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 9th. Singer Josh Groban visited one of the finalist schools to drop off brand new musical instruments and participate in chorus class as part of the “Our School Needs” campaign kick-off. Cool-beans, that is the school I'm voting for!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Bing and received a gift card and DonorsChoose.org giving code to thank me for taking the time to participate.
