So what is my ultimate family vacation? I love to travel, and have been many places, but there is a dream trip I planned out in my mind that I would love to take my family on. I want to travel many places with my own family, but my dream vacation would start with a cruise across the Atlantic on a beautiful ship, where we dine daily on great food and enjoy the amenities of the ship with our son (fun activities, shows, and watching the beautiful ocean pass by our balcony as we relax). Cruises are fabulous fun, social, and incredibly relaxing- a wonderful way to travel long distances, especially with a husband who won't fly.
Our cruise destination? Europe, or more specifically, Greece. I would love for my husband and son to see the ruins of the Acropolis, the beautiful Greek islands (especially Santorini, my favorite!), and the small, quaint towns that are scattered across the mountainsides. I'd bring my son to see where his grandparents were born, let him learn about the culture I grew up in, and try out the delicious Hellenic cuisine that I still adore. Afterwards, we could relax on a return cruise back home, before having to return to things like routine, work, and chores.

I agree 100% with you. A cruise would be awesome. We went on a Carnival Cruise in August and it was awesome. They are offering a 16 day Transatlantic cruise from Spain to Tx next November. I think that would be cool but 16 days sounds like a long time.

ReplyDeleteAs for the cruise - we just took a transatlantic crossing in April it was phenomenal, once we crossed the ocean we got to go to ports in Portugal, Gibraltar and Spain. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

ReplyDeleteMy husband wants to go on a cruise, he has been on them before and loves them. I've never been on one, and am afraid I would be seasick the whole time. This does sound like an awesome vacation, though!
