Merry Christmas, Olivia! ~Review

I've never heard of Olivia until I had the opportunity to review this fun DVD, so it's possible many other parents have not heard of her either. Let me formally introduce you to Olivia, the intelligent, perpetually in red and white, imaginative piglet who stars in this smart animated show for kids.

Olivia is a happy girl of about six or so who has an adventure every day. Like the Cosby Show, this is a positive show is about regular, everyday life, family, and the joy and little adventures of it all. Watching an episode of Olivia is just like watching life happening, and Olivia's happy personality and good nature is a great example for children everywhere.

This DVD is the premiere of Olivia's holiday shows on DVD release, and features  nine episodes (eight holiday episodes and one bonus episode called "Olivia's Pirate Treasure"). The eight episodes indluded are Olivia Claus, Olivia and the Family Photo, Olivia's Ice Spectacular, Olivia's Snow Day, Olivia Makes a Wedding Gift, Olivia Makes Magic, Olivia and the Babies, and Olivia's Good Luck. My personal favorites are The Family Photo (funny and really cute!) and Olivia Makes a Wedding Gift (focuses on simpler things, trying your best- inspirational for children).

Olivia: Merry Christmas Olivia will be available starting October 5th, but can be pre-ordered on Amazon today. It would make a great gift for kids now (why wait for the holidays?). The total running time is over 1 1/2 hours of entertainment for kidlets, the animation is terrific on our HD TV, and we really just enjoyed the simple, endearing quality of this show and the polite, friendly, happy characters.
