Zuvo Water Filtration System- Review & Giveaway!

Did you know that drinking the right amount of water each day increases your metabolism? Did you know that drinking enough water helps to cleanse the different systems working in your body, improves energy, and helps you lose weight by making you feel fuller, as well as carrying fat out of the body?

Our bodies are made up of more than 70 percent water. Not drinking enough water effects the appearance of our skin, can make us feel tired and sluggish, and does now allow our liver to clear itself out as well, as well as affecting many other important roles of our body's health. Drinking plenty of water makes you look younger and healthier, feel more energized and refreshed, cleans impurities from your body faster, and basically helps your body work optimally.

I love water, and lots of it. I drink it all day, everyday, and when I go out to eat it's usually all I drink to accompany my meal. I used to carry bottles water with me everywhere until Sheryl Crowe announced she felt her breast cancer was linked to drinking water from plastic bottles (those zillions of water bottles everywhere are not BPA-free, and who knows what other chemicals lurk in plastic that are leaching into out water?). As a result I bought stainless steel water bottles for my family. However, the quality of your water is important. If you are filling those glasses or stainless steel water bottles up with tap water that isn't healthy, what is the point?

In the past I've tried the Brita faucet filter, but unfortunately water actually sits in the filter container and plastic parts between uses, and starts to molder at the exit points. Needless to say that isn't healthy (and it can't be taken apart to clean), so I decided not to buy it again. I was researching other water filter systems, especially now that little man can drink tap water, so the safety of our drinking water is actually most urgent. As fate would have it, I was contacted by Zuvo about their water purator at just the right time. I had never heard of it before, and was happy to be able to try it out.

The Zuvo Water Filtration System, also known as the Zuvo Water Purator, is a great product. The one we were sent to review is a countertop model in white and chrome (also comes in black), and this futuristic, sci-fi looking water filtration system is pretty cool to watch, in addition to all the health benefits it offers. It purifies water in a way that mimics natures (read below for details), and watching the Zuvo in action is pretty neat (the chrome becomes invisible and you can see the water swirling and bubbling inside).

More great features of the Zuvo Water Purator:

♥ It's very easy to install (super easy- easier than any other faucet system I've tried- you simply attach the faucet valve to your faucet by twisting it on- that is it!)

♥ Each filter lasts about six months

♥ Zuvo removes contaminants from water such as chlorine and lead, but does not remove trace minerals that give water its distinctive taste

♥ The water tastes good. Compared to regular tap water and bottled water (which sometimes has a weird plasticky after-taste, and can actually be dangerous to drink if sitting in the sun or sitting out for a while), Zuvo purated water tastes very clean, like water should

♥ Eliminates the need for chemical additives or plastic anything to clean water.

So how does it work? There is a five step process that reproduces the photo-oxidation process naturally occurring in the environment:

Above Counter

STEP 1: OZONATION

In nature, ozone is generated by lightning and cleans the air where rainwater forms. The Zuvo Water Purator mixes ozone with incoming tap water to treat taste and odor contaminants and improve taste. Like chlorine, ozone is a powerful oxidizer. Unlike chlorine, ozone leaves no chemical residue.
Above Counter

STEP 2: ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT

The ozone saturated water is flooded with high-intensity UV light - the same as the solar energy that cleans water in the upper atmosphere.
Above Counter

STEP 3: PHOTO-OXIDATION

The Zuvo Water Purator combines UV and ozone in a patented process known as photo-oxidation which releases powerful oxidizers to further treat the water.
Above Counter

STEP 4: FILTRATION WITH LEAD REMOVAL

Pure spring water is created by passing through fine particles in the earth. Zuvo uses the same principle by passing water through a Class 1 Particulate Reduction Filter, reducing chlorine taste and odor, lead, and tiny particulates.
Above Counter

STEP 5: POST-FILTRATION UV

The filtered water is again exposed to high-intensity UV light as it leaves the Zuvo Water Purator, ensuring that you get clean, healthy, great tasting water...just the way nature intended!

Buy it! Zuvo sells two types of water filtration systems- counter top and under the counter. They are available on Amazon at a great price.

Win it! For a chance to win a Zuvo Water Purator, tell me a way you currently try to make your family's water healthier.

  20. Unfortunately the only way I am making our water safer at the moment is to purchase tons of bottle water. I know that it is horrible for the enviroment, but we just don't have the cash to spend on filtration right now. I would truly be thankful to win a system like this and not having to buy all that bottled water, thus creating a huge waste of plastics.
