Now that we've become Dora fans, we look forward to new Dora the Explorer DVD's as they are released. A great one, just in time for the holidays, is Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure! Seven year old Dora and her friend Boots entertain and educate children everywhere, teaching basic skills and Spanish phrases. In Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure, Dora teaches children in a different way. Instead of repetitive lessons and skill practice, this double length episode features Dora going on the adventure of a lifetime- time travel- and is more like a movie than a typical Dora the Explorer episode. When Swiper steals the star from Dora's Christmas tree, he ends up on Santa's naughty list. Dora tries to help him get off the list by traveling into the past, present, and future to learn important lessons, very like the classic Christmas Carol tale. It's not like the usual Dora tales, and I suspect this will be a big hit with both fans of Dora, and those who aren't particularly fond of the regular shows but are looking for a fun holiday movie for their kids.
Bonus Features on this DVD include music videos for Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Nochebuena Song (Emmy-nominated), and a behind the scenes featurette.
