Clouds and Stars Safety Crib Sheets- Review

One of the most brilliant ideas I've seen for new baby products comes from a company called Clouds and Stars. They offer a variety of products, all designed to help make the lives of parents easier, and among the various products they offer is their innovative and genius safety sheets for cribs called QuickZip Sheets. I don't think I need to tell anyone that one of the most frustrating things a new parent has to deal with is overnight accidents in the crib.

If your baby pees through her pj's, having to lift her out of the crib, take the mattress out, change the sheets, put the mattress back in, and try to put your baby back to sleep, all when you and your baby are tired, is very frustrating and exhausting (just writing that was frustrating and exhausting).

The alternative would be to just put a sheet over the wet spot, but today we know a lot more about crib safety than past generations, and we know better than to have loose bedding in the crib- a tangle and suffocation hazard! Enter genius (I can't say that enough) QuickZip Sheets- these innovative crib sheets have a base that totally encases the mattress, making them safe, and a top sheet that zips around the perimeter so you can get the sheets on and off easily. It takes less than three minutes when you need to change it, and your mattress stays put.
Clouds and Stars offers their fabulous QuickZip Sheets in a variety of fabrics, an organic option as well, and in sets that are perfect for gift-giving. If you buy the Miracle Bedding Set for new parents, which provides the base set, two changes of top sheets, and two flat mattress pads, you've basically provided them with their entire crib bedding needs. You can mix and match the colors and patterns in the set for variety, and you save 10% off the items if bought individually.

What else does Clouds and Stars offer? Safety playard sheets, such as the one pictured here:

These enclose the bottom pad of your baby's playard, so there is no risk of your baby pulling it off and getting tangled up in it. The one we had the opportunity to review is the blue minky playard sheet, which is a luxury version of typical sheets (little man loves the feel of it; it's very soft). If your child spits up or spills anything, the playard is protected- you just wash the sheet.

Finally, we have the opportunity to try out Clouds and Stars' flat mattress pad, which is made to fit perfectly under their QuickZip Sheet. It's waterproof, so even though it's made to be a mattress pad, you may find yourself using it for a host of other things- we use it when we change little man's diaper, to protect our bed. One side is quilted white cotton that goes beautifully with our white down comforter, and is filled with 7 ounces of soft fiberfill batting (it's almost a shame to hide it inside a crib sheet). The other side is a soft vinyl lining that is 100% waterproof.

We have tried many different sheets since little man was born, and the QuickZip Sheets by Clouds and Stars are by far our favorite. When your baby graduates to a twin bed, you'll be happy to learn that the QuickZip Sheets come in twin size as well. I really don't think parents need any other type when you have these- they are the safest and most convenient we've come across (we can't imagine how they can be improved upon), and they made it on our top ten list of best items parents can own.
