The Bissell Pro-Heat with Clean Shot~ Review

There are some appliances that just make life easier. For parents, they make it possible to spend more time doing what's important (spending time with your family), and can also take away some of the stress of managing a household, organizing multiple schedules, and keeping everything on track. Whether you work outside the home or not, the idea of spending most of your time cleaning is not very appealing.  This is why the Bissell Pro-Heat Vacuum with Spot Cleaner is a fabulous vacuum for busy parents, a vacuum that really does it all.

If you have kids, you have spots- you have stains, you have accidental messes, and you have carpets dirty from traffic. If you have a baby that is crawling, you especially need clean floors. You may not have a lot of time to scrub, scrub, scrub, so if you have children and are looking for a vaccuum, why not buy one that does all that for you?

The Bissell Pro-Heat 2x thoroughly cleans while vacuuming (there are several options depending on the traffic the area gets), with or without heat, and uses a cleaning formula that mixes with heated water to deep-clean. For especially tough stains, you can shoot a stream of concentrated cleaning formula on a spot via the CleanShot feature, suction it up, then dry the carpet with the Dry Aire feature.

♥ It is powerful! The vacuum has a double brush that moves in different directions to really loosen up dirt while vacuuming, and as I vacuumed I could see that the matted carpet fibers in our main walk area were being lifted and fluffed, giving this high traffic area of our home a like-new look again.

♥ It uses heated water (optional) for a deeper clean and Dry Aire to dry the carpet as well.

♥ It has a gazillion attachments for every kind of cleaning you need to do. My dad was over when this was delivered, so he helped me open it and put it together. He kept marvelling at all the attachments, the fact that they all fit tightly on the vacuum itself, and the fact that all the attachments were well-made and sturdy, not cheap plastic parts.

♥ It spot cleans with a cleaning formula that is concentrated to help lift out a stain, then dries the moist carpet area. Have pets and kids? Then you will love this feature. The picture below shows the CleanShot  spray in action (and more details about this fabulous feature is below).

♥ Easy to use (really easy)- everything is labelled and self-explantory, so you don't even need the instructions (but of course they are included). There is a dial with a big label saying "heat on/off" for example, and labels so you can easily find the dials and switches to change whether you vacuum through the base, or through the attachment tube, etc.

After trying out all the accessories and different parts, there are some other aspects of the Bissell Pro-Heat 2x that really recommend it. The water and cleaning formula compartments are separate, so you can rinse with water only, and the right amount of formula is measured out for you when you clean with both. The tanks containing these are easy to clean, which is important for long term use, because otherwise you'll avoid doing it and over-time the dirt and residue will build up.

The vacuum parts are very solid, sturdy, and well-made. This  makes the vacuum heavier, which isn't a problem since you use the attachments to get hard to reach spots, but you may notice the weight if you have to lift the vacuum to store it away, or if you have lots of stairs that are beyond the reach of the attachment hose. Lighter weight vacuums unfortunately do not usually have the power needed to clean an entire home well,  and considering the price for the quality of the Bissell Pro-Heat, this single drawback would not be an issue for most families.

The attachments and accessories are terrific. There is a separate hose on the vacuum for these, on the side of the the main vacuum canister. You switch a dial to change which part of the vacuum suctions, and the suction is incredible. I actually found myself preferring to use this for smaller jobs that I usually use a handheld vacuum for, because it does such a great job.

Finally, the CleanShot feature- this is a great idea. You can activate it through the vacuum handle, so you don't need to bend over or do any work to use this (the days of getting on your hands and knees with a brush and carpet cleaning spray are over). It's effective in getting out older stains as well. It's basically a concentrated shot of cleaning fluid combined with the double brush to really work on spots. Your carpet will look amazing after. The Dry Aire feature will help dry the wet spots afterwards. It's not immediate, but it is much faster than air drying, so you don't have to deal with the discomfort of walking on a moist carpet or avoiding soggy areas until it dries.
