Leaps and Bounds

I can't believe how much my son changes daily, getting smarter, more dexterous, more curious. Today I went into his room to find him
standing inside the crib, holding on to the side, yelling out for someone to come get him. Yesterday he had a play date with a neighbor's nine-month old son, and they had a baby conversation. Each took turns saying "Urghhhhh!" to eachother, and pausing to let the other respond. They were looking eachother in the eyes, talking, and listening to the other- I couldn't believe it!

He changes each day, learning new things, trying out different things, and becoming more mobile. The only thing that doesn't change is his sweet demeanor- he is as mild, cuddly, and happy as ever. And he still looks so cute when he sleeps that I want to bite him :)

I love when he spends time with other babies that are a bit older, because they do things a bit beyond him, but not too beyond him that he can't start trying to do it. He seems to learn a lot by watching them and imitating them. His cousin is two months older, and his neighborhood pal is almost three months older, so it's perfect.

  1. That's nice that he has older friends to teach him to do things!
