Sesame Street has officially opened doors to its new online store, offering books, dvd's, music, clothing, and toys featuring your children's favorite Sesame Street characters. Everyone loves Sesame Street (this was my favorite show when I was a child), and its longevity is a testament to what a great show it is. I love that my children will watch the show I watched and learned from (and as protective as I am, this will probably be the only show they watch for a long time).

We had the opportunity to review the Elmo's Rockin Road Trip, a book of travelling jingles for tots which comes a digital music player. This hardcover book is filled with colorful pages of lyrics so you can read and sing along with your child, and the pages are made of sturdy cardboard so that your little ones can't bend or tear the pages. The music player features a spinning wheel to select songs, and buttons to shuffle, play, and stop. A screen shows digital images that correspond to the song playing, and Elmo peers out over the top of the screen. This is a great idea when driving around with your child, to entertain him for the ride, and make him feel grown-up, with his own little digital music player. It's safety tested for 18+ months, but would entertain children much younger, and the songs are short enough for children to try to memorize and learn as their first songs.
