The godparents picked out beautiful favors of silver crosses with blue crystal for the guests, and I finished picking out the menu. Someone asked for a photo of the final centerpiece, but I didn't take one when we went to the florist. I'll be sure to take lots of photos at the baptism though, and can't wait to post them.
We are Orthodox, so our son will be disrobed and dunked when baptised (makes for great photos that I would love to post too!). Many babies cry, or look confused, or pee, and one baby even pooped when lifted and dunked repeatedly. I'm really curious about what little man will do :)
While planning, we used lots of on-line sites, and I plan to write about everything in more detail after the event. For now, a quick summary:
* We used Tiny Prints for the invitations and return address labels.
* All our Thank You cards are from PoppinPrints.
* My make-up artist is Piera Canu, who also did my wedding make-up. She travels and has done the make-up of models in magazines for lay-outs and she does awesome lash extensions.
* My dress is by Laundry, a white, one-shouldered style that is currently being tailored.
* Our florist is Cress Florists (they also do weddings, and many other events).
Pictures and details about everything will follow.
I am Orthodox, too, so I know exactly of what you speak when you talk about the baptism! I am godmother to my precious nephew and it was one of the best day's of my life standing up there holding him that day, then handing him to our priest (the same priest that baptized both my brother and me! and performed our weddings! and performed our parent's wedding in 1968!), and then being able to assist in the rubbing of the oil on him. Such a beautiful day!!! Many blessings to you and your family!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy 3 year old saw the adorable pic of your son and said, "Oh Mommy is it a baby? A baby BOY? A CUTE little baby boy? Awwww!"
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! The wee ones love eachother, it seems natural (and they know any other wee one they meet is a friend).
