Horizon Organic Lowfat Chocolate Milk Plus DHA Omega-3~ Review

I'm a big fan of organic milk...in our house, we use lots, in our coffee, cereal, etc. I always buy Horizon organic milk, especially since I'm still nursing and try to eat an all organic diet. I've been buying organic milk since I became pregnant, and found that Horizon is offered in most markets. After trying different companies out, it became the brand I continued to buy (I tend to stick with what I like).

Needless to say, as a result of already liking their milk, I was happy to be contacted by Horizon to review their Organic Lowfat Chocolate milk with DHA Omega-3. I didn't even know Horizon made organic chocolate milk. I love chocolate milk, and in the past I've been buying Godiva chocolate milk powder mix to mix in with my organic milk- a little pricey, but their mix had safe ingredients I could trust, so a worthwhile investment. (I feel if there is somewhere I'm going to spend extra money, what I put inside my body would be the place to start).

Horizon Milk products are produced without antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides, and their chocolate milk is no exception. Not only does it taste delicious, but I don't have to buy a separate mix and make an individual cup each time I'm in the mood for chocolate milk. I've also been trying to add more Omega-3 to my family's diet. I've tried flax seed, but I keep forgetting to sprinkle it on foods, so I'm happy some eggs and milk products, such as Horizon Organic Chocolate milk, now include it. DHA is an Omega-3 fatty acid that helps promote healthy brain, eye, and heart function and is linked to being overall leaner and healthier, not to mention possible links to lowered cancer rates.

I find Horizon milk at my local Stop & Shop. To find where Horizon is sold near you, visit their product locator: http://www.horizondairy.com/static/pop_locator.html

  1. Delicious (I realized I put that smooshed somewhere in the middle of the 3rd paragraph, lol, so I'm restating it here)...it tastes really good.

  2. I love Horizon too! You are right you get that at most stores. Though I never tried the chocolate falvor, I always assumed it had more calories than the regular. Does it?

  3. I made that post on Thursday. It snowed here in Southern Utah. We had every single type of weather that day...sun, wind, thunder/rain, snow. It was crazy! Fortunately, today was a lovely, warm spring day!
