Here's Looking At You (Better), Kid

I'm finally going to take the plunge, and get a pair of eyeglasses. I've been wearing contact lenses since I was 11 (vanity? I refused to wear glasses) but as a new mom, it's just not practical. I find myself falling asleep for naps with my contact lenses on, and waking up with a lost lense (fell out while I was sleeping) or incredible dry eyes. The time it takes to clean my lenses daily may be minimal, but glasses take no time to put on and take off, so this is another plus.

There are other good reasons to invest in prescription glasses...they look more attractive these days than ever (lots of flattering styles), I can put them on while I'm still lying in bed, it's a one-time investment, and finally, most persuasively, my mother told me to.

Today I'm going to visit a doctor to check my vision, so I hope to have my new glasses very soon. I'm actually really looking forward to it. I always felt they made people look somewhat smarter, sharper, and with a great pair, more chic.

There are lots of places to get glasses online, the risk of course being who knows if they will look good. I'll be posting soon about them, and feature my new pair for your critique and opinions on whether I made a good choice.

  1. Mine turned out really nice from them. Just make sure you get them to put the anti-glare on the lenses!

  3. I stopped wearing my contacts everyday once I had kids. It is so easy to just put my glasses on and go. Can't wait to see which ones your pick out!

  4. I wear glasses just to read. I never had contacts, but my older sis still does and boy I wish I had all the money she's spent replacing the lost ones. She's finally wised up and now gets insurance in case she loses a lense.
Glasses aren't hard to deal with. Always nice to get the actual glass lenses cleaning cloth and glass lenses spray.
