AniMagic Entertainment Group recently released Balloonatiks: The Collector's Set, a DVD featuring two of the most acclaimed episodes from the extensive and entertaining Balloonatiks catalog- "Meet Deflator" and "Pop Goes the Balloonatiks". Balloonatiks is a CGI animated kids' series and merchandise brand that includes books, dvds, comics, games, and a interactive web-site. Balloonatiks centers on five normal teens who are transformed into rubbery, bouncy balloons and are each gifted with a special ability
based on their unique personality. They are guided by Professor Swellhead to fight evildoers with their new abilities, which include changing size or bouncing to amazing heights.
Balloonatiks is fast-paced, with a lot of silly humor or references (gas jokes and pompous politicians) that would appeal to children ages 6-11 primarily. The episodes run like a sitcom, with constant gags and one-liners- great for holding the interest and attention of young viewers. While it's vibrant and action-packed, the story line and speed is too advanced for younger viewers (under five).
In "Meet Deflator", the Balloonatiks must save Hot Air City from the monster created by the evil mad scientist Dr Poppemoff, a brainless, destructive creature called Deflator. In "Pop Goes the Balloonatiks", our five bouncy heroes face wacky villain Mr Point, who captures Mayor Windbag and proclaims himself king of Hot Air City. Mr. Point causes damage with his spiky head and hands, which also threaten to pop the Balloonatiks. The running time for both episode is about 23 minutes.
The Balloonatiks web-site is very entertaining, and offers games, comics, and more that will be enjoyed by fans of Balloonatiks. Visit www.Balloonatiks.com with your kids to learn more about the world of Hot Air City and the Balloonatiks.
