Hugg-A-Planet is a company that promotes peace and love for the Earth by making educational, huggable plush toys for babies and children. They strive to teach, from an early age, our youth to love our planet, both by encouraging them to hug their own planet Earth and by educating them about all the countries and parts of our beautiful planet and moon.
Robert Forenza, president and founder of Hugg-A-Planet, has been making "green toys" since 1982. Hugg-A-Planets were voted one of Parents Choice Foundation's "Best 25 Toys of the Past 25 Years" and the entire Hugg-A-Planet product line was aboard the first Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) rocket to the International Space Station (Hugg-A-Planets will circle the Earth for years to come, making a full orbit around the Earth every 90 minutes on the Space Station!). NASA chose the Hugg-A-Planet globes because of their geographic accuracy and soft construction.
Hugg-A-Planet Earth is marked with all the countries of the world (and all the states in the US), so it is not only cuddly, but educational, a great first globe for babies and children. Over 600 locations are labeled on the Hugg-A-Planet, including the Earth's smallest nation (Niue). It comes with a plush Hugg-A-Moon, labeled geographically to teach about the moon, and also labelled with historical facts connecting us to our moon, such as where and when our spacecrafts landed. It's actually quite interesting for an adult too (my husband and I learned a lot) and can be a great tool to awaken your child's interest in geography, astronomy, travel, and more. Our world and solar system are fascinating, but you can't exactly give a hard globe to a two year old to play with, lol. These plush globes are geographically accurate, soft for cuddling or to use as a pillow, and can be tossed around for safe fun.
I was also sent (very nice surprise) a Hugg-A-Mars to review, complete with geographical labels and interesting facts. I have always been curious about astronomy, and the facts on these toy are truly fascinating (did you know that Mars has both volcanoes and ice regions, or that a Soviet probe was the first to successfully land on Mars, in 1971?) for anyone to learn about. I'd love to see more Hugg-A-Planets in the future, as these would be a terrific way to teach (and learn along with) our children.
Buy It! Visit Hugg-A-Planet's website at Peace Toys to buy one of their educational plush toys, Hugg-A-Planet® Earth, Hugg-A-Moon™ and Hugg-A-Planet® Mars. They also offer organic plush animal, HuggAmerica, a supersized Hugg-A-Planet, and planet rattles for babies.

ReplyDeleteI learned that HUGG-A-PLANET, Earth, Moon and Mars are on the International Space Station.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first mission for Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency on 9-11-09 (JAXA.) to resupply the ISS. First mission for a Hugg-A-Planet too. Every 90 min a Hugg-a-Planet will orbit the earth. They will stay there for as long as the space station remains active at least till 2016, about 5860 orbits per year. NASA will use them in many upcoming educational events. How cool is that?!!!

AND others I really admire! To be backed by all of these people with a little extra in their 'voices' is AMAZING! GREAT product when so many of our kids don't know NEARLY enough about the world they live in...and parents can brush up on these facts as the kids learn!!! Love it!!
