The Homestead Company Review and Giveaway- Baby Bliss Day 2- Closed

The Homestead Company is a terrific company that was started in 2005 by mom of five Melanie Nader. Seeking alternatives to commercial products for babies and pregnant women, she began studying nutrition in 2001 while pregnant with her first child. Melanie "began to realize how much we don't know about what is in our foods, cleaning supplies, and other every day household items." This led to her pursuing a Masters of Science in Nutrition, sharing her knowledge with others, and eventually sharing her terrific producs with the rest of us when she opened her on-line store. Everything made by the Homestead Company is made in small batches to ensure quality and efficacy, and is made in the USA.

I was sent some great items to review, including M's Love Belly Oil to prevent stretch marks, Nighttime Baby Butter to massage and relax your baby, and Whipped Body Butter to pamper your skin (perfect gifts for an expectant woman). This package includes full-sized Baby Wipe Companion (this spray is a natural alternative to harsh baby wipes), Diaper Rash Oil (helps ease the pain and inflammation of a rash), Baby Oil, Baby Butter (made with lavender and chamomile, this smells heavenly), and a travel-sized Baby Wipe Companion to take along in your diaper bag.

Another great gift idea is the Foot Care Spa Set, which comes with a pumice stone, a Hand and Foot Scrub, and a Eucalyptus and Peppermint Lotion. The pumice stone is fabulous at removing dry skin and smoothing out any rough spots, and the scrub is just incredible...made with various natural oils and dead sea salt, it leaves the calves, feet and hands feeling very silky and smooth. The eucalyptus and peppermint in the foot lotion smell invigorating and feel very refreshing when applied to tired, swollen feet.


My favorite items of all, for only $14.99, are the body butters- these are just incredible. They are solid at room temperature (no mess, easy to scoop out) and become liquid oil as soon as they come into contact with your skin, providing all the benefits of a body oil. They are rich, hydrating, leave the skin beyond soft and supple, and they come in four great scents. Anyone can use them, but I especially recommend them for a pregnant woman- when you are trying to prevent stretch marks, lotions and creams sometimes just don't cut it, and body oils can be messy. There are lots of products available with harsh chemicals, that aren't as long lasting, and are more expensive. The price is great, and shipping over $25 is free (and honestly, don't we spend a lot more than that when we shop for beauty and skincare products that are loaded with artificial, cheaper ingredients?).
