LivWorld Doll Review and Giveaway- Closed

Meet Daniela, Katie, Sophie, and Alexis, four teenaged best friends who each have their own special personality and look! Toy company Spin Master is introducing a new line of dolls that are posed to be the new popular toy with young girls aged 5-10 (the giftgiving holidays are soon approaching- hint, hint), and it's no wonder! These dolls are cute and fun.

I was sent the Alexis doll to review. Alexis is an emerald-eyed brunette that loves fashion. Each doll comes with a stylish outfit, hair brush, a hairstyle stand to hold the two included hairstyles (interchangeable wigs), and a purse. The Alexis doll came dressed in a trendy baby doll top, jeans, boots, and with a second brunette hairstyle. I was also sent additional accessories (silver jewelery, purse, shoes, and a wrap) and a blonde hairstyle to try out.


I brought Alexis to my mom group meeting this month for the young girls to play with, and they loved her. The hairstyles are what they had most fun with...you can cut the hair, style it, or just put on a new hairstyle in a different color for a totally different look. I expect females of all ages love to play with and style hair, so this was no surprise :) Some of the optional hairstyles even come with highlights or in wild shades (pink or blue). The additional hairstyles, outfits and accessories are sold separately.

The dolls also come with codes that allow you to access the virtual world on their web-site LivWorld.com, where young girls can watch wepisodes and read a daily diary updating them on the life of their doll of choice, have fun changing the dress and styles of their dolls (in a virtual closet), play mini-games, and more. At the time of our group review, we were not able to access it (it was a newly launched site and not live yet), but it is now available for young girls to access.

Why I love these dolls:

♥ They are available in four different, cute looks, so you can get all four, or one that most most appeals to her.

♥ The interchangeable hairstyles allow young girls to be creative and provide lots of entertainment. Remember cutting your barbie's hair, and being stuck with a short haired barbie? Or trying to curl it, and having the hair melt on to a curling iron? What you got is what you had, no choices (unless you bought more dolls). The silky hairstyles on these dolls are replaceable should your daughter chop off all its hair, or try putting in highlights with a marker and later regret it :)

♥ They dress appropriately modest for young girls. As an adult, I've never been ecstatic about the mid-riffs exposed on some other dolls, or the extreme mini skirts and halter tops (I am finding that too many young girls want to emulate what they admire, whether on a celebrity or popular doll). These dolls are adorable, trendy, and appealing while wearing capris, jeans, baby doll tops, jackets and cardigans that cover them up well.
